For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
This is pretty much cut and dried; if we would just take a look if we are following God’s precepts, we would walk in Him and His ways for us. We instead listen to unbelievers who are men and women and think what they say is the way. Why??? Let us judge ourselves and be saved!
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
What has happened and will happen here on this Earth will not be remembered in Heaven. Thanks be to God for that. I surely don’t want to remember the evil, the death and disease. God knows what is best for us. I will trust in Him.
Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
The Bible has never said that being angry is a sin. How we deal with our anger can be sin though. I think many people have this confused. Jesus even showed anger when He turned the money changers tables over in the temple. If we let the Holy Spirit do the guidance, He will show us how to properly handle our anger. It is ok to be angry, but don’t go to sleep at night boiling in anger. Pray on it and let God show you how to handle that anger.
For God has put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
God could just snap His fingers and make everything good and pure, but our freewill would be gone. No, we don’t like it, but letting the devil have his way in some cases, may be a part of God’s will. Discernment comes from prayer and listening. Sometimes we try to “save” people when we should allow the Spirit of God do it. Oh Father God, please give us wisdom in when we should speak, act or write and please guide us when we should just stay quiet.
My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the LORD loves he corrects; even as a father the son in whom he delights.
God is the everlasting, perfect Father. He guides and corrects us for our own good. Sometimes, He needs to “spank” us. It IS for our own good, not because He likes to, but to make sure we follow the path He wants us on. Are you feeling “spanked”? Look at it with a new outlook; God loves you or He wouldn’t do anything. Thank You Daddy God; for all!
Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?
Why is it that we think God cannot do something? God can do anything; anything at all. This is where our faith comes to light. Trust God–He can and will do what He knows is best for us.
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
This doesn’t say to pick and choose what scripture to follow; all Words from God are pure and true. We need to take all the Word into our hearts and let the Spirit of God rightly divide it and show us the way. The old testament counts just as much as the new. The Acts are just as important as Exodus. All scripture is from God and for our good!
For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation not to be regretted: but the sorrow of the world works death.
Sometimes we don’t understand sorrow, but there are two kinds; the world’s sorrow and God’s sorrow. The first leads to death and destruction and the second leads to everlasting life. When we are sorrowful, we should take a hard look as to why. Is it the world’s sorrow or are we being sorrowful because of something God put on our hearts? There is no sorrow in heaven and if we trust God, we will know that experience. It is coming soon!
O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake you shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for you are my praise. Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now. As for me, I have not hastened from being a shepherd to follow you: neither have I desired the woeful day; you know: that which came out of my lips was right before you. Be not a terror unto me: you are my hope in the day of evil.
So many people don’t realize that daily they judge themselves. When they argue against the Word of God, it shows there shame and anguish. It is a defensive mode that people use to try to make themselves right. Jesus is our hope and our way. If we ask for healing, He will heal. If we ask for forgiveness, He will. Don’t hope for the end, it is clear here we shouldn’t. We have work to do and this life we live on Earth can be a blessing or a curse; it is our choice. Seek the Lord and all blessings will multiply! Praise Him!
For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
We see this all over the church now days. People are following people and not Jesus, nor reading and heeding the Word. Through study of God’s Word and prayer we can walk the path that God wants for us. Don’t follow man, follow God!
