Acts 6: 2-4

So the Twelve called the whole group of disciples together and said, “It is not desirable for us to neglect messages from God in order to wait on tables. Therefore, brothers, appoint seven men among you who have a good reputation, who are full of the Spirit and wisdom, and we’ll put them in charge of this work. Then we’ll devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

God calls us all to many ministries. As the Word says in the last sentence, we too must devout ourselves to prayer and ministry. Even though I have many things going on, I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to post this morning. That small voice said to just open my Bible and the Word would come. Yes, when I read this scripture again, I completely understand. We have a Powerful and Amazing God. Praise Jesus!

Acts 20:24

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

I pray this same prayer today. There is really only one very important objective in this whole life and that is sharing our wonderful Savior’s Love. All else is vanity and really amounts to nothing. May God help and save us all!

Acts 26:16-18

16Now get to your feet! For I have appeared to you to appoint you as my servant and witness. You are to tell the world what you have seen and what I will show you in the future. 17And I will rescue you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles 18to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.

As Jesus spoke this to Paul, He also speaks to us. We are commissioned to do the same. Tell and show the world Jesus. Showing humans that Satan is not the way, but Jesus/God is the only way.

Acts 20:32

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them who are sanctified.

No matter the speaker or message, our first place should be God’s Word–The Bible. His Words are ample and His Grace is sufficient. Let’s keep our eyes upon Him!

Acts 24:10-25

10Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself: 11Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship. 12And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city: 13Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me. 14But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: 15And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. 16And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. 17Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings. 18Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult. 19Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me. 20Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council, 21Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

22And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter. 23And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.

24And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. 25And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Just like Paul, when we are accused of things not true or of God, He will give us the words to speak and our defense. There are many who, through satan, want to lie about us and take us down. We are not to use violence, but we are to let God do His perfect work.

Acts 4:10-12

10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Jesus is the only one that can save us from our own destruction. His is the only name we can call on to wipe sin from us. We must call on Him if we want to be free from the world’s agony.

Acts 16:31

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house.

I worry about my children’s salvation. I bet you do too. This scripture points us to good news; if we trust and believe on Jesus, our whole house will be saved. This good news is wonderful! Believe it!!

Acts 26:8

Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

Why is it that we think God cannot do something? God can do anything; anything at all. This is where our faith comes to light. Trust God–He can and will do what He knows is best for us.

Acts 20: 29-30

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

We see this all over the church now days. People are following people and not Jesus, nor reading and heeding the Word. Through study of God’s Word and prayer we can walk the path that God wants for us. Don’t follow man, follow God!

Acts 4:31

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

Prayer is our most powerful weapon; through prayer, the foundations of the whole Earth will shake. God wants our prayers; He desires them. We can come to our Father in boldness, if we truly believe and trust in Him. Father I ask of You to guide and lead us in Your perfect Will. Whatever Your call Lord, give me the strength and the wisdom to follow it. In Jesus name.
