As he taught, he said, “Beware of the scribes! They like to walk around in long robes, to be greeted in the marketplaces, and to have the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ houses and say long prayers to cover it up. They will receive greater condemnation!”
As I look and watch many venues in these days and times, it is really no different than what the scribes were doing in the days that Jesus walked the Earth. I see those who claim Jesus as Lord and preach at others, and turn and rob, steal, cheat and lie. Jesus was clear here that there are levels of condemnation. Some are ignorant of the sins they are performing, and others know full well what they are doing, and some do them in the name of Jesus. God is a great and merciful Lord, but He will not see men and women walk on and step on His beloved children. He will perform acts of pure justice; not justice as the world sees justice, but an almighty justice that is far above anything any earthly judge or jury can perform.
After reading this, please do not start pointing fingers. Look in the mirror. How have you been with God? I know I have committed treacherous acts, and I cry out right here; right now for cleansing. How about you?
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. “He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
We have a job to do. We need to tell all. It is quite clear in this passage that baptism is an outward sign that you believe and trust in Jesus. You say you believe, but have you shown it to the world by being baptized? It is important. Some preachers may claim it is not, but this scripture does point out it is. Get baptized and show the world your stand!
This is a great video:
38And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. 39But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. 40For he that is not against us is on our part
In today’s world, we see denominations fighting other denominations. All claim Jesus as their Savior and Lord, but are arguing over smaller things. All the while, Satan works his way in as an angel of light. Let’s stop fighting each other and work together in harmony as God leads us. Jesus is the way and the truth; we need His guidance and it is all in the Book: the Bible.
And he said unto them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
We are commissioned to tell the world what Jesus did for us. Are we? Are we telling all? It is our responsibility and we will answer to Him if we were or were not. How will you answer?
And they that passed by derided him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, you that destroy the temple, and build it in three days, Save yourself, and come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
So many seem to be doing the same to Jesus now days as what was done on this day. Do we expect Him to do miracles so that we can believe? We have seen blessings and miracles and we still expect and expect. Are we spitting on Jesus? Do we truly believe? I praise and thank You Jesus for not coming down from that cross that day; I thank You that You gave me a way to the Father knowing that I could not live up to the law. Praise be to our Savior!
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
Y AMARAS AL SEÑOR TU DIOS CON TODO TU CORAZON, Y CON TODA TU ALMA, Y CON TODA TU MENTE, Y CON TODA TU FUERZA. El segundo es éste: “AMARAS A TU PROJIMO COMO A TI MISMO. No hay otro mandamiento mayor que éstos.
If we live by these two commandments, all the others will be followed. God is a God of love and He loves us very much. Why is it we don’t show Him that love back? Could you sacrifice your only son to save a people that didn’t listen to you or even hated you? God did! That is true love.
But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever would be great among you, shall be your servant: And whosoever of you will be the first, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
God’s way is not our way; We put people in high positions and they work less it seems, when God puts people in high positions, they are servants. I long to be God’s servant and to do His will. Let me not hold others back, but help push and tug them forward to that grand prize–Everlasting Life!
And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will you then that I shall do unto him whom you call the King of the Jews? And they cried out again, Crucify him. Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil has he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him. And so Pilate, willing to satisfy the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
I wonder how often I act just like Pontius Pilate? How many times do I just go with the crowd when I know something is wrong. Do we agree that God shouldn’t be in school or courthouses? Why aren’t we the believers and disciples screaming? Are we just going along? On this Holy weekend, I give Jesus so much thanks for what He did for me. Please help me God not be like Pontius.
And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, testing him. And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, Why does this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.
If only they would have looked right in front of them; Jesus was their sign from Heaven. Are we looking for signs, or are we trusting? The Bible says it; the Holy Spirit has shown. Truth is all around us! Praise the Holy One! Glory to God and praise Jesus!
Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
Why did Jesus first appear to Mary Magdalene? He knew she would believe; after all, He had removed 7 demons from her. When she told others, they thought her crazy and didn’t believe. We must all remember that God/Jesus/Holy Spirit will use the small and odd things of this Earth to show Himself. Are you believing? Are you trusting God? If He appeared before you, would you really believe? Jesus is coming soon and many will not believe; I pray you and I will.
