Phillipians 3: 12-14

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,d but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Sometimes the excuse, “I’m not perfect” seems to come up quite often. This is truth…none of us are perfect. Using it as an excuse does show immaturity though. We need to press toward perfection. Only by faith in our Lord can we do this. We need to pray at all times, and read the Word consistently. Someday we can reach perfection through the blood of Jesus.

Philippians 4:11-13

Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Our contentment doesn’t come from money or material items. It doesn’t come from other people; the only contentment we can have all comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No matter the situation, I will praise Him and glory in His mercy for us. It is through Him that we have life and love. Praise our wonderful God!

Philippians 4:11-13

11Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

God allows us to be in situations that at times, we do not understand. Everything will work for His glory when we allow Him to guide us. At times, it may mean going without or having difficult situations, but God will take care of us if we trust in Him. All will be His will and we are here to do His will. Thank You Jesus for the strength You give.

Philippians 1:9-11

9And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; 10That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; 11Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

This prayer from Paul is for us. May God abound within us and may our desires coincide with God’s desires for us. If we stay in payer and worship, Jesus/God will guide us into perfection and His will will overcome all obstacles. Let Jesus reign!

Philippians 1:20

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

This also is my prayer, that I be not ashamed as to what Christ has given me. I hope that I can always live up to what He wants from me. If it be life or if it be torture and death, if it glorify God, so be it! Many of us are concerned about being safe and so forth, but where is our faith in being that way? It is the unsafe areas where Christ and the message needs to go the most and we have to let go and let God at times. If we keep our eyes on Him, He will protect us to eternity. Praise You Jesus!

This song is so true about me; I know it’s all because of Jesus–I should have been dead long ago by the world’s standards–but I am alive because of Jesus!

Philippians 1:20-21

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

I too, am not ashamed at all of Christ! Why should we b? The devil will lead you into shame, but Christ leads you into so much better. We should not fear death, Jesus has told us we will rise. Kill me if you must, because I win no matter what. As long as my life is grounded in Jesus, my death will see Him magnified in totality. Praise You Jesus!

Philippians 1:15-18

Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The one preach Christ out of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the gospel. What then? only that, every way, whether in pretense, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

Sometimes different “Christians” argue over little stuff. If Jesus is preached and shared, He is the key! Why bicker? It’s all about bringing others into the kingdom and not about doing things by the law. Thanks and glory be to Jesus our Lord and Savior!
