Judges 2: 1-3

//

Now the angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, “I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land which I have sworn to your fathers; and I said, ‘I will never break My covenant with you, and as for you, you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.’ But you have not obeyed Me; what is this you have done? “Therefore I also said, ‘I will not drive them out before you; but they will become as thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you.’”

We often wonder why God allows murders, terrorist activities, and wars. look at this passage; if we as humans would listen and follow the path God tells us to take, all will be well. The Israelites did not follow all that God told them and this is why the world is the way it is. It isn’t all their fault. We all have not listened to God at times and generations to come will pay for our non-adherence. God gave us freewill and in some ways it has made things difficult; not because God gave it to us, but because we use our freewill for greed and our own pride. We all must not blame God…we need to look in the mirror and blame the one who really is at fault. It is my fault Father, and I ask you to step in and fix the screw ups I have made. Praise You God!

Revelation 18:1-5

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was made bright with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of demons, and the haunt of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich through the abundance of her luxury. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

We, if we are living in God, should be different; peculiar. We are aliens living in a strange land. We need not fear the ravages that plague the land if we are in Jesus. It is going to get worse and worse as Jesus Christ’s return gets closer. Where He is, sin is recognized and abounds even more. Are we living wholly within Him? Praise to Our Father and praise His Son; thanks to the Holy Spirit who makes us all one.

Matthew 28:5-6

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not: for I know that you seek Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

There is no doubt about it; this day is the anniversary or celebration of the greatest day in all of history. Without this day, I believe our Father God would have destroyed this world and all in it. It took the perfect sacrifice to cover all the sin in mankind. The one perfect lamb who allowed Himself and His Father allowed Him to be nailed to a cross by us. No it wasn’t one set of people who did it, who crucified our Lord; it was you and I. We stuck thorns in His head and stabbed Him in His side. After all we did, darkness blanketed the land for 3 days and on this day; yes Easter; Jesus rose from the dead. It is the greatest day in history, because if it would not have happened, you and I would not be here. We would probably be cursing each other over an open fire. Thanks be to Jesus!
