1 Corinthians 12:20-25

But now there are many members, but one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable, whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked, so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.

Sometimes we think everyone in the church should be just like us. What makes us the right ones? Everyone in the church body has their place and their uses. No matter what you consider their downfalls, they are needed. Do we, instead of looking at their downfalls, look in the mirror at our own downfalls? We are one body and the body has many members, none of whom are the same, but we need each other. If you are the nose, you still owe respect to the little finger.

James 2:17-26

17So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

18Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”

19You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God.f Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. 20How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?

21Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. 23And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”g He was even called the friend of God.h 24So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.

25Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. 26Just as the body is dead without breath,i so also faith is dead without good works.

There is a lot of meat in this passage. Yes, faith is important, but what are we doing with that faith. Like it says, even demons know that God is real, but they are not saved from hell. Are we bypassing the works? Are we doing what the Holy Spirit calls us to do? Read the passage and let the Holy Spirit work, so that you can work. Do the right things and you will be blessed.

2 Corinthians 5:1-10

1We know that if the earthly tent we live in is torn down, we have a building in heaven that comes from God, an eternal house not built by human hands. 2For in this one we sigh, since we long to put on our heavenly dwelling. 3Of course, if we do put it on, we will not be found without a body. 4So while we are still in this tent, we sigh under our burdens, because we do not want to put it off but to put it on, so that our dying bodies may be swallowed up by life. 5God has prepared us for this and has given us his Spirit as a guarantee.6Therefore, we are always confident, and we know that as long as we are at home in this body we are away from the Lord. 7For we live by faith, not by sight. 8We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from this body and to live with the Lord. 9So whether we are at home or away from home, our goal is to be pleasing to him. 10For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of the Messiah, so that each of us may receive what he deserves for what he has done in his body, whether good or worthless.

Sometimes I find myself wanting to be away from all this world’s problems. The Holy Spirit that Jesus left with us when He ascended to Father God, keeps us striving on. Yes, I would rather be with my Lord, but He has missions for us. It is all about Him–all of it! I will keep working and striving to be right in His eyes…Will You?

Ephesians 4:4-6

4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling; 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.

As times seem very difficult right now, I know that I still must worship and do God’s will. By trusting God, only good will come. If I trust in anything else, it is bound to fail. Yes, there is only one God and Lord of all. He is in three persons, but one. All praise be to God!

Colossians 2:16-18

Let no man therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Let no man deceive you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind

If we follow God’s Holy Spirit, no one can condemn us. They will try, but they will look foolish in doing so. The law is the law, and Christ is all! We must follow His Truth to overcome the world’s traps and devices. His Word is our sword and if we stand upon it, we will win. We are at war. Fight it as the soldier of God should.

James 3:3-10

3Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. 5Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Our tongues can do a lot of damage or it can lift those around us up. How are we using our speech? Is  it for good or bad? Are we considering what our words are doing to the person we are speaking too? Words are the ultimate weapon and can destroy lives. Guns and weapons do damage, but the tongue is the ultimate weapon. With the tongue, wars start and stop.
