Isaiah 66: 3-5

But he who kills an ox is like one who slays a man;
            He who sacrifices a lamb is like the one who breaks a dog’s neck;
            He who offers a grain offering is like one who offers swine’s blood;
            He who burns incense is like the one who blesses an idol.
            As they have chosen their own ways,
            And their soul delights in their abominations,

      So I will choose their punishments
            And will bring on them what they dread.
            Because I called, but no one answered;
            I spoke, but they did not listen.
            And they did evil in My sight
            And chose that in which I did not delight.”

      Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at His word:
            “Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you for My name’s sake,
            Have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy.’
            But they will be put to shame.

Hypocrisy can be a terrible thing. There are many, and I have been guilty of such, who try to tell others how to do it-how to live in God’s ways, but they do not look in the mirror of their own souls. None of us completely know what all God is doing. He uses the simple things to aggravate the worldly wise things.

It is quite evident in this that we should follow God’s path for our own lives, but do not necessarily think that your neighbor should follow that same path.

It is our position to share our gift of grace with others, in love…but not to tell them how they need to live the life God has for them.

The law is the law….and Grace is grace-the gift of our wonderful Savior!

Job 3

Start Speaking any Language in 10 Days

At last Job spoke, and he cursed the day of his birth. He said:

“Let the day of my birth be erased,

and the night I was conceived.

Let that day be turned to darkness.

Let it be lost even to God on high,

and let no light shine on it.

Let the darkness and utter gloom claim that day for its own.

Let a black cloud overshadow it,

and let the darkness terrify it.

Let that night be blotted off the calendar,

never again to be counted among the days of the year,

never again to appear among the months.

Let that night be childless.

Let it have no joy.

Let those who are experts at cursing—

whose cursing could rouse Leviathan—

curse that day.

Let its morning stars remain dark.

Let it hope for light, but in vain;

may it never see the morning light.

Curse that day for failing to shut my mother’s womb,

for letting me be born to see all this trouble.

“Why wasn’t I born dead?

Why didn’t I die as I came from the womb?

Why was I laid on my mother’s lap?

Why did she nurse me at her breasts?

Had I died at birth, I would now be at peace.

I would be asleep and at rest.

I would rest with the world’s kings and prime ministers,

whose great buildings now lie in ruins.

I would rest with princes, rich in gold,

whose palaces were filled with silver.

Why wasn’t I buried like a stillborn child,

like a baby who never lives to see the light?

For in death the wicked cause no trouble,

and the weary are at rest.

Even captives are at ease in death,

with no guards to curse them.

Rich and poor are both there,

and the slave is free from his master.

“Oh, why give light to those in misery,

and life to those who are bitter?

They long for death, and it won’t come.

They search for death more eagerly than for hidden treasure.

They’re filled with joy when they finally die,

and rejoice when they find the grave.

Why is life given to those with no future,

those God has surrounded with difficulties?

I cannot eat for sighing;

my groans pour out like water.

What I always feared has happened to me.

What I dreaded has come true.

I have no peace, no quietness.

I have no rest; only trouble comes.”

con los reyes y con los consejeros de la tierra, que edifican para sí lugares desolados;

que esperan la muerte, y ella no llega, aunque la buscan más que a tesoros enterrados;

No he tenido paz, no me aseguré, ni estuve reposado; no obstante me vino turbación.

Should we as Christians be depressed? Should we ever wish we were not born? Should we wish that God would kill us?

Job did!

Job was a man of God, and he wished these things.

Why is it when we have deep despair that some people feel they need to tell us that we shouldn’t because we are not supposed to? Does it say in the Word of God that we shouldn’t feel deep despair? I have never seen it.

It is what we do with these feelings that matters. If we run out and steal to provide, we are wrong. If we try to commit suicide, that is against God’s Word. If we fall on our knees and cry out to our Father in Heaven and our Lord Jesus, Yes, that is what we must do.

God allows us to go through storms and to feel deep despair. We will then realize all we really have is Him. He is the only one who can help…and HE WILL.

If you are feeling deep despair over health, finances, family issues, or anything else, it is ok–tell God what you are feeling. You can have those feelings, but tell God and ask for Him to help.

The next time someone who thinks they know that God and the Bible says you shouldn’t feel these feelings, send them to the book of Job. Ask them if they think they are more of, or even as much as a man or woman of God as Job was. He felt the feelings and voiced it. God listened. Jobs friends tried to tell him the same things your friends may be trying to tell you.

Read the end of the book of Job. The friends were reprimanded by God and Job was blessed immeasurably.

It is ok–you can feel despair.

John 16:22

And ye therefore now have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one taketh away from you.

There is sorrow and grief in this world, but when we have Jesus as our Lord and Savior, these sorrows are just for a short time. We have Him to look toward and forward to. Joy is coming and soon!

Hebrews 12:1-2

1Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Sometimes it is easy for us to allow the stress and cares of the world to overtake us and we don’t listen to the Holy Spirit. We are in a race and our goal is to run that race to the best of our ability. How do we do that? We listen to our coach. Who is our coach? Jesus is our coach. He lived it too. He knows what we face and He understands. If you fall, pick yourself up and listen to the coach–run and run. Your faith will give you strength. Look at the prize, because you WILL win if you listen to the coach–JESUS CHRIST.

Acts 20:24

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

I pray this same prayer today. There is really only one very important objective in this whole life and that is sharing our wonderful Savior’s Love. All else is vanity and really amounts to nothing. May God help and save us all!

Isaiah 55:12-13

For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

When we follow God’s path for our lives, this promise from Isaiah can be for us. This prophecy speaks of our Lord and Savior, Jesus., but we can also have this response from the earth and nature. By listening to the Holy Spirit and following God’s plan, He will bless us. Praise Him with singing!

Luke 2:10-11

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Today is the day we celebrate this wonderful birth; the birth of Jesus Christ who came to be a sacrifice for all of us. We give gifts and build trees, but do we really understand what this day is all about? God gave us the greatest gift of all by offering His Son to be our Savior. What kind of gift are we giving Him today? Praise You Father and praise You Jesus!

Psalm 5:11-12

But let all those that put their trust in you rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because you defend them: let them also that love your name be joyful in you. For you, LORD, will bless the righteous; with favor will you surround him with a shield.

Yes, I can shout for joy! I do trust the Lord, Even though there are tough times and even though there are attacks coming from places I did not realize, I know God has me. It is all in His plan and in the end, GLORY!!!! We should not worry or fret, no matter the circumstances. God has it and I trust Him. Praise You Father!

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them who are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also who sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Our faith and our hope tells us that those who have died before us are just sleeping. When Jesus comes again, they will rise and go too. Do we sometimes go overboard worrying about those who are asleep and not those who are still here and don’t know Jesus? Something to consider. Praise You Lord Jesus!

1 Peter 1:6-9

In which you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you are in heaviness through manifold trials: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, you love; in whom, though now you see him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

This is a Word I need as much as anyone else today; as trials come and come, we must stand on the Rock; Jesus Christ!Faith is much more than any gold or silver; much more than a new car or house; much more than anything we can think of. Our faith is who and what we are. No matter our place in life, we must stand in a faith far beyond this Earth. Faith that tells us that death and disease are defeated and Jesus holds us in heavenly places. Praise and thanks to the Holy Trinity; Father God, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit all in one–GOD!
