Acts 6: 2-4

So the Twelve called the whole group of disciples together and said, “It is not desirable for us to neglect messages from God in order to wait on tables. Therefore, brothers, appoint seven men among you who have a good reputation, who are full of the Spirit and wisdom, and we’ll put them in charge of this work. Then we’ll devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

God calls us all to many ministries. As the Word says in the last sentence, we too must devout ourselves to prayer and ministry. Even though I have many things going on, I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to post this morning. That small voice said to just open my Bible and the Word would come. Yes, when I read this scripture again, I completely understand. We have a Powerful and Amazing God. Praise Jesus!

Psalm 108: 12-13

Oh, please help us against our enemies,

for all human help is useless.

With God’s help we will do mighty things,

for he will trample down our foes.

Often times we seek other people’s help or advice. This scripture shows that compared to God’s help, human help is useless. Do we seek men before God? The best help of all comes when we fall on our knees and seek God.

Psalm 102: 1-12

Lord, hear my prayer!

Listen to my plea!

Don’t turn away from me

in my time of distress.

Bend down to listen,

and answer me quickly when I call to you.

For my days disappear like smoke,

and my bones burn like red-hot coals.

My heart is sick, withered like grass,

and I have lost my appetite.

Because of my groaning,

I am reduced to skin and bones.

I am like an owl in the desert,

like a little owl in a far-off wilderness.

I lie awake,

lonely as a solitary bird on the roof.

My enemies taunt me day after day.

They mock and curse me.

I eat ashes for food.

My tears run down into my drink

because of your anger and wrath.

For you have picked me up and thrown me out.

My life passes as swiftly as the evening shadows.

I am withering away like grass.

But you, O Lord, will sit on your throne forever.

Your fame will endure to every generation.

A causa de Tu indignación y de Tu enojo; Pues Tú me has levantado y me has rechazado.

God has a plan. We sometimes just do not comprehend why we face hardships or difficulties, but His plan is true and sure. As we go through difficult times, let’s look upon Jesus and his endurance of the Cross. Nothing we are facing is even close to what He faced.

There is a reason, and our blessings will come. Trust and Faith in the Almighty is our main objective. If we do that, all will be well, because God’s plan will prevail.

Job 3

Start Speaking any Language in 10 Days

At last Job spoke, and he cursed the day of his birth. He said:

“Let the day of my birth be erased,

and the night I was conceived.

Let that day be turned to darkness.

Let it be lost even to God on high,

and let no light shine on it.

Let the darkness and utter gloom claim that day for its own.

Let a black cloud overshadow it,

and let the darkness terrify it.

Let that night be blotted off the calendar,

never again to be counted among the days of the year,

never again to appear among the months.

Let that night be childless.

Let it have no joy.

Let those who are experts at cursing—

whose cursing could rouse Leviathan—

curse that day.

Let its morning stars remain dark.

Let it hope for light, but in vain;

may it never see the morning light.

Curse that day for failing to shut my mother’s womb,

for letting me be born to see all this trouble.

“Why wasn’t I born dead?

Why didn’t I die as I came from the womb?

Why was I laid on my mother’s lap?

Why did she nurse me at her breasts?

Had I died at birth, I would now be at peace.

I would be asleep and at rest.

I would rest with the world’s kings and prime ministers,

whose great buildings now lie in ruins.

I would rest with princes, rich in gold,

whose palaces were filled with silver.

Why wasn’t I buried like a stillborn child,

like a baby who never lives to see the light?

For in death the wicked cause no trouble,

and the weary are at rest.

Even captives are at ease in death,

with no guards to curse them.

Rich and poor are both there,

and the slave is free from his master.

“Oh, why give light to those in misery,

and life to those who are bitter?

They long for death, and it won’t come.

They search for death more eagerly than for hidden treasure.

They’re filled with joy when they finally die,

and rejoice when they find the grave.

Why is life given to those with no future,

those God has surrounded with difficulties?

I cannot eat for sighing;

my groans pour out like water.

What I always feared has happened to me.

What I dreaded has come true.

I have no peace, no quietness.

I have no rest; only trouble comes.”

con los reyes y con los consejeros de la tierra, que edifican para sí lugares desolados;

que esperan la muerte, y ella no llega, aunque la buscan más que a tesoros enterrados;

No he tenido paz, no me aseguré, ni estuve reposado; no obstante me vino turbación.

Should we as Christians be depressed? Should we ever wish we were not born? Should we wish that God would kill us?

Job did!

Job was a man of God, and he wished these things.

Why is it when we have deep despair that some people feel they need to tell us that we shouldn’t because we are not supposed to? Does it say in the Word of God that we shouldn’t feel deep despair? I have never seen it.

It is what we do with these feelings that matters. If we run out and steal to provide, we are wrong. If we try to commit suicide, that is against God’s Word. If we fall on our knees and cry out to our Father in Heaven and our Lord Jesus, Yes, that is what we must do.

God allows us to go through storms and to feel deep despair. We will then realize all we really have is Him. He is the only one who can help…and HE WILL.

If you are feeling deep despair over health, finances, family issues, or anything else, it is ok–tell God what you are feeling. You can have those feelings, but tell God and ask for Him to help.

The next time someone who thinks they know that God and the Bible says you shouldn’t feel these feelings, send them to the book of Job. Ask them if they think they are more of, or even as much as a man or woman of God as Job was. He felt the feelings and voiced it. God listened. Jobs friends tried to tell him the same things your friends may be trying to tell you.

Read the end of the book of Job. The friends were reprimanded by God and Job was blessed immeasurably.

It is ok–you can feel despair.

Psalm 80

1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,
you who lead Joseph like a flock!
You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth.
2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh,
stir up your might
and come to save us!

3 Restore us,a O God;
let your face shine, that we may be saved!

4 O Lord God of hosts,
how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers?
5 You have fed them with the bread of tears
and given them tears to drink in full measure.
6 You make us an object of contention for our neighbors,
and our enemies laugh among themselves.

7 Restore us, O God of hosts;
let your face shine, that we may be saved!

8 You brought a vine out of Egypt;
you drove out the nations and planted it.
9 You cleared the ground for it;
it took deep root and filled the land.
10 The mountains were covered with its shade,
the mighty cedars with its branches.
11 It sent out its branches to the sea
and its shoots to the River.b
12 Why then have you broken down its walls,
so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?
13 The boar from the forest ravages it,
and all that move in the field feed on it.

14 Turn again, O God of hosts!
Look down from heaven, and see;
have regard for this vine,
15 the stock that your right hand planted,
and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.
16 They have burned it with fire; they have cut it down;
may they perish at the rebuke of your face!
17 But let your hand be on the man of your right hand,
the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself!
18 Then we shall not turn back from you;
give us life, and we will call upon your name!

19 Restore us, O Lord God of hosts!
Let your face shine, that we may be saved!

3Oh Dios, restáuranos; y haz resplandecer tu rostro, y seremos salvos.

Haz resplandecer tu rostro, y seremos salvos.

This Psalm is so beautiful. A song of desire for God to come down and be in the hearts of man. To be our breath, our life, our whole being. We cannot live without God. If He is not within, we are without; we are dead without Him. Sure our heart may be beating and we may be walking, but without Him, we are zombies. Sing this song today. Praise our God!

1 Timothy 4: 1-8

But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer. In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following. But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

It is very easy to get caught up in what seems to be spirituality, but is actually law and stress. Don’t eat that, don’t drink this. Do it this way or follow my way.

The truth is, we need to follow God’s way–Jesus Christ’s way; we need to listen and follow the Holy Spirit. Just because everyone else is being vegetarians doesn’t mean you will get closer to Heaven by doing the same. There is only one way to Heaven–through Jesus’ amazing Grace.

Let God, prayer and God’s Word (The Bible) guide you. Many will try to have you follow their way–it doesn’t mean they are right. There is only one who has it completely right—Jesus Christ our Lord!

Psalm 69: 13-16

But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

This prayer of David is so personal. We need to be personal with God too. He listens and understands. He knows our deepest thoughts and our worse sins. He knows us better than we know ourselves.

Talk to Him. He wants you to.

Oh Father, save us!

1 Peter 3:12

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

PORQUE LOS OJOS DEL SEÑOR ESTAN SOBRE LOS JUSTOS, Y SUS OIDOS ATENTOS A SUS ORACIONES; PERO EL ROSTRO DEL SEÑOR ESTA CONTRA LOS QUE HACEN EL MAL.

He is always watching, hearing and knowing. He is with us. He knows our hearts and intentions. Trusting in God is our priority, because He has it all under control, even when it may not seem so.

Matthew 6:7-8

But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not therefore like them: for your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask him.

I have heard some prayers that sound as if the person praying is giving a sermon instead of talking with God. I have heard some that are the same over and over. Do we really think God hears those? If your child was talking to you and saying the same thing over and over in a meaningless way, how would you react? God wants us to have an intimacy and be close to Him.

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray without ceasing.

orad sin cesar.

Does this mean we walk around looking like many do when they are standing in church, with our hands clasped and heads bowed and eyes closed? It means that we always to talk with God;always! It doesn’t mean we have to talk aloud, we can be in prayer in our thoughts. Try it; God is always with you, just talk with Him. He blesses those that rely and trust in Him, I know He does. Just always pray and see.
