Nehemiah 5:1-13

1Now there arose a great outcry of the people and of their wives against their Jewish brothers. 2For there were those who said, “With our sons and our daughters, we are many. So let us get grain, that we may eat and keep alive.” 3There were also those who said, “We are mortgaging our fields, our vineyards, and our houses to get grain because of the famine.” 4And there were those who said, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tax on our fields and our vineyards. 5Now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children are as their children. Yet we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but it is not in our power to help it, for other men have our fields and our vineyards.”

6I was very angry when I heard their outcry and these words. 7I took counsel with myself, and I brought charges against the nobles and the officials. I said to them, “You are exacting interest, each from his brother.” And I held a great assembly against them 8and said to them, “We, as far as we are able, have bought back our Jewish brothers who have been sold to the nations, but you even sell your brothers that they may be sold to us!” They were silent and could not find a word to say. 9So I said, “The thing that you are doing is not good. Ought you not to walk in the fear of our God to prevent the taunts of the nations our enemies? 10Moreover, I and my brothers and my servants are lending them money and grain. Let us abandon this exacting of interest. 11Return to them this very day their fields, their vineyards, their olive orchards, and their houses, and the percentage of money, grain, wine, and oil that you have been exacting from them.” 12Then they said, “We will restore these and require nothing from them. We will do as you say.” And I called the priests and made them swear to do as they had promised. 13I also shook out the fold of my garment and said, “So may God shake out every man from his house and from his labor who does not keep this promise. So may he be shaken out and emptied.” And all the assembly said “Amen” and praised the Lord. And the people did as they had promised.

When we as, humans and as Christians, see a wrong being committed against someone who doesn’t deserve it, do we stand by and just allow those who in superior positions to do it?

One of God’s prophets stood ground for the poor and downtrodden. We can learn a lot from Nehemiah.

The fact is: if we know of a wrong being done to another human, and we stand idly by, we are just as guilty of the offense.

If we know of wrongs, we are sinning if we do not take a stand against those wrongs.

This is why I salute all who stand strong on the abortion debate.

PLAIN AND SIMPLE: ABORTION IS MURDER!

Zephaniah 3:1-5

1Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

2She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.

3Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.

4Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

5The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.

sus jueces, lobos al anochecer;
no dejan nada para la mañana.
4 Sus profetas son temerarios, hombres pérfidos;
sus sacerdotes han profanado el santuario,
han violado la ley.
5 El SEÑOR es justo en medio de ella;
no cometerá injusticia.
Cada mañana saca a luz su juicio,
nunca falta;
pero el injusto no conoce la vergüenza.

When I read this prophetic scripture, I am considering today’s world and the United States. Could we fit into this? We need to repent and do right. We need to seek the True and Living God! We need to fall down and worship before Him and ask His mercy. It says at the end the unjust know not shame. Do you feel shame when you do wrong, or is it just another thing? Cry out to Jesus and beg His grace and mercy upon mankind!

Mark 15:29-32

And they that passed by derided him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, you that destroy the temple, and build it in three days, Save yourself, and come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

So many seem to be doing the same to Jesus now days as what was done on this day. Do we expect Him to do miracles so that we can believe? We have seen blessings and miracles and we still expect and expect. Are we spitting on Jesus? Do we truly believe? I praise and thank You Jesus for not coming down from that cross that day; I thank You that You gave me a way to the Father knowing that I could not live up to the law. Praise be to our Savior!

2 Chronicles 36:14-17

Moreover all the leaders of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much according to all the abominations of the nations; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem. And the LORD God of their fathers sent word to them by his messengers, sending them time and again; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

It was going on thousands of ears ago and it is happening today. People mock God and laugh as if He were not real. He shows us His power and might daily and people still scorn Him. Do they really want to feel the wrath of God? I am amazed how men and women can be so ignorant. Wake up people; wake up. Give thanks to God, our Maker and Lord. His goodness and grace is right in front of you!
