Isaiah 66: 3-5

But he who kills an ox is like one who slays a man;
            He who sacrifices a lamb is like the one who breaks a dog’s neck;
            He who offers a grain offering is like one who offers swine’s blood;
            He who burns incense is like the one who blesses an idol.
            As they have chosen their own ways,
            And their soul delights in their abominations,

      So I will choose their punishments
            And will bring on them what they dread.
            Because I called, but no one answered;
            I spoke, but they did not listen.
            And they did evil in My sight
            And chose that in which I did not delight.”

      Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at His word:
            “Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you for My name’s sake,
            Have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy.’
            But they will be put to shame.

Hypocrisy can be a terrible thing. There are many, and I have been guilty of such, who try to tell others how to do it-how to live in God’s ways, but they do not look in the mirror of their own souls. None of us completely know what all God is doing. He uses the simple things to aggravate the worldly wise things.

It is quite evident in this that we should follow God’s path for our own lives, but do not necessarily think that your neighbor should follow that same path.

It is our position to share our gift of grace with others, in love…but not to tell them how they need to live the life God has for them.

The law is the law….and Grace is grace-the gift of our wonderful Savior!

Hebrews 7:24-28

24But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. 25Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

26For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; 27Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. 28For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

Jesus had no sins He had to account for as did other priests. He is the perfect High Priest who is able to go to the Father and beg mercy for us. He died for us. Do we realize just what He did for us, or do we take it for granted. Praise be Jesus, our High Priest and Savior!

Nehemiah 4:1-9

1But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews. 2And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? 3Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.

4Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity: 5And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.

6So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

7But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, 8And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.

9Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

4 Oye, oh Dios nuestro, cómo somos despreciados.

Just like the Jews, we too have walls built around us to keep us from outer evil. At times, with our sin, we can make holes in these walls to allow the enemy passage in. Are we keeping our walls secure? We need to pray and read the Word and the walls God has built around us will stand firm and solid. As verse 9 says, we must set a watch with prayer. The evil ones are always looking for opportunities to break through the walls, but God gives us the strength and the way to keep the walls tight and strong.

Jonah 2:7-10

When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto you, into your holy temple. They that regard vain idols forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice unto you with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. And the LORD spoke unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

I can totally relate to Jonah. I am crying out to You oh God. You have also released me from the fish’s stomach and hell itself. You hear my prayers and I know it, I see it and feel it. Praise You Father. Please help me stay upon the path You have given and prepared for me. Thank You God!
