Romans 6: 3-6

Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.

¿O no sabéis que todos los que hemos sido bautizados en Cristo Jesús, hemos sido bautizados en su muerte?  Por tanto, hemos sido sepultados con El por medio del bautismo para muerte, a fin de que como Cristo resucitó de entre los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así también nosotros andemos en novedad de vida.  Porque si hemos sido unidos a El en la semejanza de su muerte, ciertamente lo seremos también en la semejanza de su resurrección,  sabiendo esto, que nuestro viejo hombre fue crucificado con El , para que nuestro cuerpo de pecado fuera destruido, a fin de que ya no seamos esclavos del pecado;

We are not dead…we are alive because Jesus is alive. So why do some of us live as though we are dead? Sin doesn’t live with or in us, and sin is death. Be renewed today. Ask Jesus for that renewal and be prepared to live.

Jonah 3

And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey. And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

I have neglected this blog as of late, and I feel bad because of it. I have been caught up in the freelancing work I do along with the new website I have developed: http://lancerlife.com.

These are not good excuses at all for neglecting the Word of God. Just as Jonah went against God’s calling, I have done the same. No whale has swallowed me, but I did finally receive a picture and short letter from my Grandson Elijah yesterday. He was adopted and I was moved to tears. God has heard my prayer and allowed me to have some contact with this dear boy that I love very much.

My point in all of this is: we have missions in this life. I have been worried about making a living and have turned from the responsibilities I have of God. I first ask His forgiveness and also yours. May your day, your week and your years be full of God’s Grace, Mercy and Love.

God loves us!

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Many think that this great falling away is people walking away from church. Could it be that churches themselves are falling away? That the Preachers and Pastors are “watering down” the Word? That they are more worried about having every seat full than telling the Word of God in fullness and Truth? To be very honest, this is what I see. We dare not hurt someone’s feelings because they are homosexual, or they had an abortion, or they still drink alcohol like fish or do drugs…at least they are in church. We better not preach about that this week because they may not come back.  Hey people, church is not a “feel good place”. It is where we come to worship Our Lord and Father and learn how we are supposed to walk, talk, and live. If I go to church and never feel conviction, I believe there is something wrong. If the Holy Spirit isn’t allowed in, that is a falling away. Yes, satan inhabits churches too. So where are you at with this? Where am I? Where is the church we go to?

As so many say….Just sayin

Romans 6:20-23

I apologize that I have not been posting daily. First, I must ask your prayers in that we are in stress on how to go about adopting my Grandson Elijah. It is looking as if I may have to travel back to Missouri for some time. I need God’s affirmation and I know with your prayers, He will answer.

Secondly, you may know that I bought a website and have several sub-domains attached to it. The main site is gringoboricua.com.

One of those sub-domains is called The Mustard Seed. I recommend your subscription to it. Just click

HERE

Now on with this blog post:

When you were slaves to sin, you were free from doing what God approves of. What did you gain by doing those things? You’re ashamed of what you used to do because it ended in death. Now you have been freed from sin and have become God’s slaves. This results in a holy life and, finally, in everlasting life. The payment for sin is death, but the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life found in Christ Jesus our Lord.

No matter what, we are slaves to something. Are you a slave to sin or God? By being a slave to God, He gives us freedom. This may sound like a contradiction, but God’s ways are way beyond ours. Are you saved from that sinful past? Have you recognized that God loves you and wants you in His arms? If the answer is no, now is the time. Just ask and He will give; just knock and he will open. Death does not have to be a fear or reign anymore–Jesus Christ defeated it!

Hebrews 12:1-2

1Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Sometimes it is easy for us to allow the stress and cares of the world to overtake us and we don’t listen to the Holy Spirit. We are in a race and our goal is to run that race to the best of our ability. How do we do that? We listen to our coach. Who is our coach? Jesus is our coach. He lived it too. He knows what we face and He understands. If you fall, pick yourself up and listen to the coach–run and run. Your faith will give you strength. Look at the prize, because you WILL win if you listen to the coach–JESUS CHRIST.

Romans 6:6-7

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we should no longer serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.

To know Jesus completely, we too have to be crucified. We have to die. Sin will not have any power over us if we allow ourselves to die from the old ways. Let Jesus be King and Lord and die to the past.

Romans 3:19-26

19Now we know that whatsoever things the law says, it says to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

20Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

21But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22Even the righteousness of God which is by faith in Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.

Oh God is so wonderful! It is only His Grace, ONLY! No other way, but through Jesus!

Ezekiel 18:20-23

20The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

21But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 22All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. 23Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

We can turn from sin and be righteous. God declared it even before Jesus came to the Earth to be our sacrifice. If we turn away from sin and live in a righteous path, always in prayer and listening to God, He will bless us with His best blessings and best of all…Eternal Life with Him!

Nehemiah 4:1-9

1But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews. 2And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? 3Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.

4Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity: 5And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.

6So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

7But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, 8And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.

9Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

4 Oye, oh Dios nuestro, cómo somos despreciados.

Just like the Jews, we too have walls built around us to keep us from outer evil. At times, with our sin, we can make holes in these walls to allow the enemy passage in. Are we keeping our walls secure? We need to pray and read the Word and the walls God has built around us will stand firm and solid. As verse 9 says, we must set a watch with prayer. The evil ones are always looking for opportunities to break through the walls, but God gives us the strength and the way to keep the walls tight and strong.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

All our ways will just bring death. God, in His mercy, has given us a gift. It is not something we can work for. It is a gift and all we have to do is accept His gift. Eternal life is right in front of us wrapped with a beautiful bow. Will men and women take the gift and open it? There is no “good” you can do to earn eternity. You and I are not “good” enough. Thank You Father for the precious gift You have given us. I accept Your Son. Please guide me in Your righteousness.
