Ecclesiastes 6: 10-12

That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it is man: neither may he contend with him that is mightier than he. Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better? For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?

With all the latest news in the world, I have been depressed. I think on these words from Solomon who had everything he possibly could want, but his soul was in anguish. The answers to Solomon’s questions are actually very simple, but we make it so difficult….JESUS. Yes, Jesus is mightier than we. Yes, Jesus is the one who knows what is good for us in this short time we spend on Earth. Yes, Jesus can, and does tell us what is better for us. Yes, it is sad that the Supreme Court ruled in favor for marriage not adorned by God, but what about all the other garbage? How many Christians are watching the unhealthiness on the television sets? How many Christians are bypassing what the Holy Spirit is telling them? I want to just simply ask:

Will God Find Even 1 Who Is Righteous?

James 2:17-26

17So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

18Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”

19You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God.f Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. 20How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?

21Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. 23And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”g He was even called the friend of God.h 24So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.

25Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. 26Just as the body is dead without breath,i so also faith is dead without good works.

There is a lot of meat in this passage. Yes, faith is important, but what are we doing with that faith. Like it says, even demons know that God is real, but they are not saved from hell. Are we bypassing the works? Are we doing what the Holy Spirit calls us to do? Read the passage and let the Holy Spirit work, so that you can work. Do the right things and you will be blessed.

Job 31:2-6

2For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

3Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?

4Does not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

5If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot has hurried to deceit;

6Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know my integrity.

Does God really owe us anything? Sometimes, we as people think He does. We owe God everything. I ask You my Father, to keep me and show me the path You desire for me. If I am misled or do wrong in Your eyes, please set me straight. I ask Your blessings my Lord, but most of all, let Your will be done.

Titus 3:9-11

9But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. 10A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; 11Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

There are many who want to “debate” or “argue” the Bible. There is a time to give explanations, but in many cases, it is wiser to just walk away. Many of these people who are this way know the truth, but have denied it. Their primary objective is to trap you into a “word game”. Their father is Satan and they have walked away from Jesus. It is much better to ignore their debate and let God fight that battle in their minds and hearts. Let God’s Spirit be the guide.

Isaiah 57:13

When you cry, let your collection of idols deliver you; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that puts his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain

There are so many things in this world right now that can be considered idols. Do we trust them? Will they save us from diseases, crime or even death? No!! By trusting in our Lord and Savior we can be assured of life everlasting; only He is true and faithful. All praise King Jesus!
